Story outline: Nanny goat leaves seven kids alone and warns them against opening the door for the wolf. Wolf tries various strategies and eventually manages to get in.

Title: Better Move on Frog

Title: When the Tripods Came

Possible activities

Needs: A way to survive from the invaders.

Design:

• Design a survival shelter which would sustain over a certain period of time and be waterproof. It would need to have room for food storage.

•  Design and make a Tripod based on the descriptions in the book. Use kits or assorted materials.

• Design and make a time capsule to record the way life is today. What would you use for the casement and which items would you put in it? How would you ensure that it survived for decades?

Title: Stig of the Dump     Author: Clive King

 

Possible activities  Needs: A way of recycling.

Design:

• Design a place that Stig would enjoy living in that would be safe from intruders. (Use junk like Stig did.)

• Design a system for recycling. Think about collection points, and the possible end products.

  Title: Elidor

Possible Activities

Need: Find a way to protect the treasure.

Design:

• Design a way/place to hide the treasure so that the dark forces can't get it. What materials or magical spells could you use?

• Design a map that shows you the way around Elidor based on what you've read in the book.

Story outline: Some children find a street on a map and when they investigate they find the street is being demolished. They go through a church on the street and into another world, called Elidor, which is being destroyed by dark forces.
